Common questions

Why is the free preview so honest and the unlock so expensive?

The recon is the same. The 2-minute Brave + signal-pack pipeline runs whether you pay or not. What the unlock buys is the rendering: the full report structure, the dated receipts list, the export to your agent. The free preview is not a teaser of fake data. It is the same verdict, with the next-3 sections behind a paywall.

Do the credits expire?

No. Hatch Pack credits are yours until you spend them. There is no monthly reset, no auto-charge, no "use it or lose it" clock.

Can I get a refund?

If a report is unusable (technical error, blank response, or the unlock JWT fails to deliver the verdict), email support@hatchly.org and we will refund. We do not refund because the verdict was GRAVEYARD. A real "no" is the most valuable thing we can sell.

Is there a subscription?

No. Credits only. We do not want a monthly charge on your card that you forget about. The next tier of credit packs (10, 25) is on the roadmap.

What is the difference between a receipt and a citation?

A citation is a model-asserted claim about the world. A receipt is a dated, clickable post from a real person (Reddit, Hacker News, GitHub, a review site) with engagement metadata. Every claim in the full report traces to a receipt, or it goes under "Not Proven Yet."

What do you NOT do?

We are not ChatGPT. We are not a generic AI score. We are not a market-sizing tool. We are a calibrated, evidence-grounded read with the receipts in the open. The free preview and the unlocked report are the same evidence. The paywall is the rendering, not the research.
